Job summary
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 to lead the Olympic Region Plans Office design support and reviews. You will oversee design, pre-award activities, and ensure high-quality project development while aligning with safety and resilience goals.
This role offers flexible/hybrid remote work options and opportunities to influence regional transportation projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated technical expertise in design documentation and contract plans.
- Experience applying standard transportation engineering procedures independently.
- Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficient with engineering/drafting software and Windows-based tools.
- Ability to lead and supervise a diverse workforce and foster collaboration.
- Commitment to learning, growth, and service orientation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Design Support and Plans Review Team for regional projects.
- Monitor Design-Bid-Build projects through pre-advertisement to award phases.
- Coordinate PS&E status reporting and project status meetings with teams.
- Monitor procurement activities for Olympic Region Design-Build contracts.
- Coordinate Documentation Packages and Plans for PFA reviews and archiving.
- Support development of Specifications, Engineer’s Estimates, and Special Provisions.
- Provide technical guidance and training on PS&E and Ad-Ready package development.
- Maintain Region resources, including libraries and manuals.
