Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to lead highway improvement projects from Wenatchee, WA. Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of transportation engineering principles, project delivery, and consultant-delivered projects.
• Ability to interpret federal, state, and local laws and apply engineering standards.
• Experience in project management, scope, schedule, and budget control.
• Experience reviewing engineering plans and ensuring quality and compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from pre-design through PS&E delivery.
• Coordinate with consultants, agencies, and stakeholders to manage deliverables and deadlines.
• Draft and review agreements, budgets, and schedules with design consultants.
• Oversee design engineering and schedule management using Primavera P6.
• Prepare reports, contract plans, specs, and estimates for project delivery.
• Monitor consultant conformance to regulatory provisions and agreements.
