Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks two Transportation Technician 3 positions to support Olympic Region’s Tumwater Design Office in highway design projects. You will provide CAD support for PS&Es, develop plan sheets and quantity estimates, and maintain design documentation.

Field visits may occur for data gathering and quality control. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to standards, and collaboration with staff to deliver safe, reliable designs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering plans, specs, and technical data.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD and design support for PS&Es per WSDOT standards.
• Develop and revise plan sheets, exhibits, alignments, profiles, cross sections, drawings, and quantity calculations.
• Prepare roadway, drainage, utility, signing, markings, traffic control, ROW, and geometric design elements.
