Job summary

Allient Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking a Design Engineer to support new customer applications, product launches, cost reductions, and manufacturing improvements through collaboration with sales, engineering, quality and manufacturing teams.

The role involves releasing designs to production, analyzing engineering data, coordinating tooling and manufacturability, planning experiments, and communicating across engineering and customer contacts to ensure on-time project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
• 5–10 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives is a plus.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates the design and release to production of products, which meet customer needs and reflect current/future manufacturing processes.
• Analyzes and interprets engineering data for products and components, modifications, and changes.
• Confers with manufacturing engineering to provide assistance in methodizing product operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or subcontracting, labor and material cost estimates.
• Develops and presents technical information to aid in strategic planning initiatives.
• Recommends resources required to enhance product performance and/or resolve design/manufacturing issues.
• Plans and develops experimental test programs; analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets specifications.
• Works with production and engineering staff to solve problems associated with design and manufacturing of products.
• Communicates with other engineering and customer personnel to coordinate interrelated design and assure project completion
