Job summary

Allient Inc. in Tulsa, OK is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team.

You will engage with customers to define requirements for motors, drives, gearboxes and related systems, and serve as a liaison between customers, distributors, and internal teams to support quotes and product configurations. Responsibilities include developing cost estimates, preparing quotations, reviewing inputs, coordinating with sales and engineering, and ensuring current prints and pricing information are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical; related technical degree with equivalent experience may be considered.
• Three or more years of experience in applications engineering, quoting, estimating, cost analysis, or related roles.
• Experience developing or supporting cost estimates, quotations, bids, or customer proposals for technical manufactured products.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, customer specifications, and related documents.
• Strong ability to collect, organize, and communicate information from customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with ERP/MRP, quoting, estimating, engineering documentation, reporting, or CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare cost estimates, quotations, bids, and supporting analyses for new and existing products.
• Review requirements and identify missing information, scope, risks, and cost drivers.
• Communicate estimates, assumptions, exclusions, and key drivers during reviews.
• Support sales volume, pricing, and margin forecasts; evaluate price changes and market conditions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain specifications and pricing information for quoted products.
• Engage customers, distributors, and sales teams to understand application needs and quote requirements.
• Prepare planning estimates and detailed itemized estimates using drawings, BOMs, labor, tooling, and manufacturing needs.
• Provide technical assistance to interpret and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field issues.
