Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Design Engineer to join a project team focused on civil municipal design and utility coordination. The role covers roadway, electric, and subsurface utility interfaces with a focus on ROW permissions and DOT frameworks.

You will contribute to design, analysis, and documentation across a growing portfolio including EV charging, solar, substations, and civil site work, while collaborating with municipal and state agencies to secure ROW and permits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering required.
• EIT or PE preferred.
• Minimum 2.5+ years civil site, roadway, or utility engineering experience.
• Experience coordinating with municipal utilities and DOT interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for civil municipal projects following specs and codes.
• Address complex electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges with little oversight.
• Peer-review civil designs under professional supervision.
• Lead design lifecycle from initiation to construction closeout.
• Prepare engineering docs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS and asset platforms.
• Assess utility impacts on roadways and coordinate ROW and MOT.
• Coordinate with public works, utilities, and permitting agencies.
