Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Design Engineer for AI Gateway to own product design and frontend implementation across surfaces from model discovery to production. You will collaborate with a Product Manager and engineers to understand problems, explore solutions, and ship the production experience.

You will work with customers, a Product Manager, and engineers to understand the problem, explore solutions, build the production experience, ship it, and learn from what happens after launch.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design and ship production web apps with React and TS.
• Strong visual and interaction craft enabling complex products to be understandable.
• Ability to move between graphical interfaces, CLI workflows, and API behavior.
• Experience using customer research and product data to drive decisions.
• Experience with coding agents and explaining their outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own product design and frontend implementation across surfaces: site, dashboard, CLI, APIs.
• Design and build production experiences, choosing the right medium for each problem.
• Clarify models, providers, credentials, routing, budgets, logs, performance, privacy, governance.
• Engage with customers and use data to define success, tradeoffs, and improvements.
• Own quality after launch: visual design, accessibility, performance, resilience, instrumentation.
• Use coding agents to explore ideas, while testing and debugging what ships.
