Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Design Engineer for AI Gateway to own product design and frontend implementation across multiple surfaces. You will collaborate with a Product Manager and engineers to understand problems, explore solutions, build production experiences, ship, and learn from outcomes after launch.

You will embed with a Product Manager and an engineering team, with Design in the loop for critique and support, and report to Design Team. Remote work is possible depending on location.

Qualifications

• Proficient in React and TypeScript, able to contribute in a large codebase.
• Strong visual and interaction craft, making complex products understandable.
• Able to move between GUI, CLI, API behavior and implementation details.
• Uses customer research and product data to guide decisions and changes.

Responsibilities

• Own product design and frontend implementation for journey from model discovery to first successful request.
• Design and build experiences across website, dashboard, CLI, and APIs.
• Create patterns that extend across providers, modalities, and workloads.
• Talk with customers, use data to define success, and balance tradeoffs.
• Ensure quality after launch, including accessibility, performance, and instrumentation.
• Use coding agents to explore ideas, then test, debug, and own what ships.
