Job summary

Mirador Search Partners seeks a hands-on mechanical/electromechanical engineer for a Milwaukee-area manufacturing company to own full-cycle product development from concept through production launch.

You will design, prototype, test, and produce detailed Autodesk Inventor drawings for valves, relays, and related components, while collaborating across customers, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet requirements and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience designing mechanical/electromechanical products through full lifecycle.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD and manufacturing drawings.
  • Hands-on prototyping, lab testing, troubleshooting, and supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle product development from concept to production launch.
  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of electromechanical products (valves, relays, and related components).
  • Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, performance, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with customers, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and internal teams to develop practical solutions.
  • Support prototype builds, lab testing, product validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide technical expertise on manufacturing issues, engineering changes, quality concerns, and product improvements throughout the lifecycle.
  • Work hands-on in a collaborative environment, supporting CAD, documentation, testing, and production discussions.

Role Description

  • Own full-cycle product development projects from initial concept and feasibility through prototyping, testing, and production launch.
  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of electromechanical products, including valves, relays, and related components.
  • Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, performance expectations, and production timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and internal teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support prototype builds, lab testing, product validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure successful product performance.
  • Provide technical expertise on manufacturing issues, engineering changes, quality concerns, and product improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work hands-on in a collaborative engineering environment, supporting everything from CAD design and documentation to testing, production support, and customer discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience designing Mechanical and/or electromechanical products and taking designs through the full product development lifecycle.
  • Strong 3D CAD experience with the ability to create models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience with hands-on prototyping, lab testing, troubleshooting, and supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams in a hands-on engineering environment.
