  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of DC electrical circuits, wiring, harnesses and related components.

Job description

The Design Engineer III will work under general supervision to perform a variety of engineering activities related to the design, development, testing, and support of industrial products and systems. This position will also contribute to prototype development and research & development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical product design experience and be comfortable working across CAD, FEA, fluid dynamics, drafting, and product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test products to meet customer and technical requirements.
  • Create, review, and maintain production drawings for newly developed products.
  • Provide technical and product support to both internal and external customers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and track product development projects.
  • Maintain customer communications and update technical documentation.
  • Provide additional engineering and design drawing support as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited four-year institution.
  • 5+ years of professional product design experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and fluid dynamics modeling.
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting and GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and other standard engineering software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of DC electrical circuits, wiring, harnesses and related components.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
  • 1+ years of experience designing gate, butterfly or ball valves.
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion management.
  • Understanding of internal combustion engine operating principles and requirements.
  • Strong thermodynamics knowledge.
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic valve actuation design.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA and PPAP processes.
