Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years in sheet metal, injection molded, and machined parts design
  • 5+ years in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical design principles
  • Experience translating red lined drawings into fully documented prints
  • 5+ years designing consumer or industrial products in manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

Job description

Electro-Mechanical Designer

Our client has both New Product Development for new technology products AND of their legacy niche products that the company was founded on sixty (60) years ago. They are a small but dedicated team, where your contributions can make a big difference. They are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Electro-Mechanical Designer to create, develop, and refine designs for products and systems that integrate both electrical and mechanical components.

The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams under the direction of a Project Manager to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and components using CAD software.
  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of design issues.
  • Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and revision control in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
Preferred Experience:
  • Extensive experience in sheet metal design.
  • Experience translating red lined drawings into fully documented prints.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP manufacturing software. Experience with MiSys is especially relevant.
  • Familiar with handling Engineering Requests/Orders.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experienced in the design and detailing of sheet metal, injection molded, and machined parts.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault.
  • o (If you currently use Solidworks, it will be an easy transition to modeling with Inventor).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design of consumer or industrial products in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical design principles.
  • Knowledge / experience in manufacturing methods, problem solving, cost factor awareness, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
