Job summary

Chemelex is seeking a Design Engineer to deliver engineering design and analysis within the project scope, including circuit loading, layouts, and drawings. You will use AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and our in-house tools to optimize the design process.

A degree in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines is preferred, with 0–2 years of experience in design or field engineering for commercial heating; strong time management and familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Suite and SAP are assets.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or technology diploma in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
• 0–2 years of experience as a Design Engineer or Field Engineer in commercial heating is an asset.
• Solid time management skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MS Suites and SAP is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and EHT design is an asset.
• Data Center experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and analysis within assigned project scope of work, including circuit loading, functional evaluations, layouts and drawings.
• Awareness of cost, schedule, quantity and budget control for the engineering scope of work.
• Use advanced software such as NavisWorks, AutoCAD, and our in-house TRACERLYNX and PROMAN to optimize our design process.
• Proactively establish inter-department relationships to manage client expectations relative to technical execution methodologies, scope, schedule and change management.
• Identify and communicate proposed solutions to issues impacting cost, schedule, quality/design integrity, safety, or interface with construction.
• Develop resolution of problems of limited scope following standard procedures.
• Contribute toward team environment and Chemelex values.
• Possess a basic understanding of customer priorities.
• Occasionally support projects at site.

What You Will Experience In This Position

Provide engineering design and analysis within assigned project scope of work. This includes circuit loading, functional evaluations, layouts, and engineering drawings. Awareness of cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control for the engineering scope of work.

Use advanced software such as NavisWorks, AutoCAD, and our in-house programs TRACERLYNX and PROMAN to optimize our design process.

Perform various engineering and circuit design tasks within our innovative paperless workflow process.

Proactively establish inter-department relationships at appropriate levels to assist in managing client expectations relative to technical execution methodologies, scope, schedule, progress, and technical change management. Impact to the work in own department and occasionally to other areas and functions.

Identify and communicate proposed solutions to any emerging issues which are likely to impact cost, schedule, quality/design integrity, safety, or interface with construction.

Develop resolution of problems of limited scope following standard procedures.

Contribute toward the team environment and shared culture of Chemelex.

Possess a basic understanding of customer priorities.

Occasionally support projects at site.

You Have

An engineering degree from an accredited university or a technology diploma from a recognized college in the Electrical or Mechanical disciplines is preferred.

0-2 years of experience as a Design Engineer or Field Engineer specializing in commercial heating applications is an asset.

Possess solid time management skills.

Experience with AutoCAD, MS Suites and SAP is an asset

Knowledge of basic electrical and EHT design experience is an asset

Data Center experience is an asset
