Job summary

Mendocino Farms is seeking a Director of Design to lead the evolution and delivery of our restaurant experience across new restaurants, remodels, refreshes, and strategic initiatives.

This leader will own the design function, prototype, standards, and resources, partnering with Operations, Culinary, Facilities, Construction, Real Estate, and Marketing to create environments that balance guest experience with efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive design leadership in restaurant/retail/hospitality.
• Experience leading design teams and external partners.
• Strong knowledge of FOH/BOH flow, equipment, accessibility.
• Excellent communication and executive-ready presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design function across prototypes, standards, and resources.
• Own brand environment and design standards.
• Collaborate with Operations, Culinary, Facilities, Construction, Real Estate, and Marketing.
• Improve restaurant operations through design and post-opening learning.
• Manage partner networks and investment tradeoffs.
• Drive design delivery and QA/QC with cross-functional reviews.
