Job summary

Wayfair’s Birch Lane retail store in Sarasota, FL is seeking a design‑savvy sales associate to deliver authentic customer experiences and guide purchases in home furnishings.

Use interior design insight to lead in-store and virtual design appointments, prepare moodboards, and provide décor recommendations. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; 2+ years in sales with high‑end products helps. Includes a $1,600 sign-on bonus after 90 days and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales experience, preferably with high price-point products
• Experience in interior/design fields showing understanding of design principles (spatial planning, fabrics, styles)
• Passion for design, strong customer service, and sales targets
• Strong organizational, self-motivation, communication and relationship management skills
• CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce)
• Ability to work in a team sales environment
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, changing environment
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide authentic, friendly customer experiences reflecting Wayfair’s customer focus.
• Leverage design and sales expertise to guide customers in home furnishings purchases.
• Manage in-store and virtual design appointments, prepare design deliverables and moodboards.
• Use design software/tools to drive store profitability (space plans, 2D/3D views).
• Share fabric & finishes knowledge, highlighting performance and trends.
• Balance design appointments with sales floor interactions and leadership communication.
• Meet or exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets and KPI goals.
• Participate in store operations like product placement, floor sets, replenishment.
• Contribute ideas to improve team operations and workflows.
• Adapt to rapid changes in products, promotions, and store offerings
