Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager to oversee design/build projects from concept through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.

You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage risks, forecast costs, procure equipment and subcontractors, and lead client communications to maximize value and repeat business.

A Bachelor's degree in engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience are required; professional registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (accredited program)
• 7+ years in design engineering with 3+ years in engineering project management
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience
• Proven success in project management and client relations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle large workloads
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information

Responsibilities

• Oversee multi-discipline design/build projects from concept to closeout; ensure safety, siting, environmental permitting, estimating, and procurement
• Develop and monitor schedules, manage scope, and control project costs
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, strategy, budget, subcontracting, staffing, and compliance
• Lead risk reviews; collaborate with Legal on required matters
• Manage internal project financials; provide accurate cost forecasts and accruals
• Establish project teams; coordinate multiple disciplines for efficient staffing
• Manage all project communications; report progress, issues, and variances
• Identify opportunities for submittals, proposals, and contract negotiations; support client relationships
