Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a Dermatopathology Lab Technician to perform gross examination, tissue processing, and slide preparation with strict adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations. The role requires ASCP certification or eligibility, a related degree, and experience in a dermatopathology lab.

Qualifications

• Requires A.S. or B.S. degree and/or HT/HTL, MTL, CT license/certification (ASCP).
• Maintaining ASCP certification by attending CME and in-service programs.
• Previous experience in Dermatopathology Lab required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Clear communication with physicians, staff, and patients; HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination of tissue specimens and finish same-day grossing.
• Finish the grossing of tissue specimens received on the same day.
• Prepare slide prep specimens for microscopic examination the same day of receipt.
• Operate, clean, and sterilize laboratory equipment; maintain clean work area.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies bi-weekly.
• Update laboratory manuals with new products/chemicals and disseminate changes.
• Participate in continuing education and cross-training as requested.
• Provide professional, courteous interactions with patients, peers, and physicians.
