Job summary
Epiphany Dermatology in Waco, TX is seeking a dedicated Grossing Technician to support our dermatopathology laboratory and multi-site practice. You will perform macroscopic tissue processing, measurement, inking, and documentation within the EHR, under supervision of pathologists and the healthcare team.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of related lab experience, an accredited associate or higher in medical laboratory technology or related science credits, and authorization to work in
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of related laboratory experience as a technician.
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology, or Bachelor's with heavy science coursework (24 science credits).
- 60 semester credits with science coursework accepted as alternative.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and document lab services under supervision of Pathologists' Assistant or Dermatopathologist.
- Complete required lab training on Epiphany protocols and testing imperatives.
- Prepare patient tissue samples for microscopic evaluation and manage specimen flow.
- Maintain compliance paperwork, reagent logs, and quality assurance forms.
- Document in the EHR and paper records ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Handle biohazard materials and waste per infection control guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service in person or by phone.
