Job summary

Dockside Dermatology LLC is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support Mohs surgical procedures, patient care, and clinic operations. You will assist the physician, prepare the surgical area, manage patient histories, and help with pre- and post-operative instructions, all while maintaining strict infection control and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Mohs surgical assistant training or certification is a plus.
• Experience assisting in dermatology or Mohs surgery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during Mohs procedures by preparing the surgical area and instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Prepare patients for surgery, explain the procedure and ensure their comfort; obtain informed consent.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care and wound instructions; educate patients about the process.
• Assist with biopsies, dressings, and patient follow-ups; manage post-op scheduling.
• Process administrative tasks including scheduling, updating EHRs, and handling patient inquiries.
• Maintain infection control and HIPAA compliance; keep exam rooms sterile and stocked.
