Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
• Record medical history and confirm the visit purpose.
• Ensure proper documentation before preparing the patient for treatment.
• Prepare patients for examination.
• Assist providers with exams and treatments; includes blood draws, injections, wound care, and procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices.
• Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR.
• Educate patients.
• Return patient phone calls.
• Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens.
