Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinicians and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced dermatology setting. You will verify patient information, manage medical history, perform phlebotomy, and assist during examinations under supervision.

The role requires prior medical office experience, knowledge of HIPAA standards, and familiarity with EMR systems. A team-oriented, patient-first attitude is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with ModMed EMA EMR (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room; assist physician during exams.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Change wound dressings and collect, log and package lab specimens.
• Sterilize medical instruments and maintain supplies.
