Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision. The role includes patient intake, charting in EHR, rooming patients, assisting physicians, handling prescriptions, and coordinating procedures.

Strong HIPAA knowledge and prior medical office experience are preferred. Candidate should be a team player, able to learn center tasks quickly, and maintain safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced dermatology setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.
• Familiarity with HIPAA laws is essential.
• Team player with ability to learn center tasks quickly.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing the patient and recording medical history.
• Enter medical history and visit information into the EHR system.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Instruct patients on medication usage and wound care.
• Maintain sterile instruments and manage supply inventory.
• Complete phone triage and communicate lab results to patients.
