Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision. You will help with patient intake, history, and documentation in the EHR, while assisting physicians during exams and procedures.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, wound care, medication administration, and in-office procedures support. This role requires strong organization, patient focus, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; prior medical office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming visit purpose.
• Enter medical history and visit information into the EHR.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Take photographs and assist during medical examinations and procedures.
• Process prescriptions by phone to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Instruct patients on proper medication usage and wound care.
• Perform in-office phlebotomy and change wound dressings; manage sutures.
• Collect, log, and package lab specimens for transport; sterilize instruments.
• Manage supplies and inventory; complete phone triage and communicate lab results.
