Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, recording medical history, entering data into EHR, assisting physicians, and coordinating tests and procedures.

A strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance and teamwork is essential. The role offers full-time employment in a dermatology practice network with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a medical office setting
• Ability to learn center tasks and assist management/physicians
• Self-motivated to deliver high patient care and service
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)
• Familiarity with ModMed EMA EMR (preferred)
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations
• Travel may be required for some offices

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history and confirming visit purpose
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR
• Escort patients to exam room
• Ask pertinent medical questions and data entry into EHR
• Prepare patient for exam and provide necessary materials
• Taking photographs
• Assisting physician during examinations and procedures
• Phone prescriptions to pharmacies
• Schedule medical procedures
• Instruct patients on medication usage
• Change wound dressings and remove sutures; perform in-office phlebotomy
• Collect, log and package lab specimens
• Sterilize medical instruments
• Maintain supplies by inventorying and placing orders
• Complete phone triage
• Notify patients of pathology and lab results
• Scribe office visits
• Administer IM, SQ, and topical medications
• Conduct nurse visits including suture removals, UVB, Excimer, Patch Testing, Biologic injections
• Maintain safe work environment by following protocols
