DOCS Dermatology Group in Chicago hires a Medical Assistant to support clinical duties and patient care under supervision. You will verify patient information, record medical history, and enter data into the EHR, while preparing exam rooms and assisting during visits.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, coordinating with labs, scheduling procedures, triaging calls, and educating patients on medications. Prior HIPAA knowledge and prior medical office experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in medical office.
• Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management/physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve high patient care and customer service standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with ModMed EMA EMR (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
• Some offices may require travel.
• Team player.

Responsabilités

• Verify patient information and medical history.
• Enter medical history and visit data into the EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Assist physician during exams and procedures.
• Phone prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Schedule medical procedures.
• Instruct patients on medication usage.
• Change wound dressings and assist in phlebotomy.
• Collect and package lab specimens.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Inventory and order supplies.
• Complete phone triage.
• Notify patients of pathology and lab results.
• Scribe office visits.
• Administer medications as ordered.
• Perform nurse visits including suture removal and phototherapy.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
