Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group in Chicago seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, entering medical history into EHR, preparing exam rooms, assisting physicians, handling lab specimens, and triage calls.

The role requires a high school diploma, prior medical office experience, familiarity with HIPAA, and ability to learn ModMed EMA EMR. Travel may be required in some offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical office and patient-facing role.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information and medical history during visits.
• Enter medical history and visit data into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Transmit prescriptions to pharmacies by phone.
• Schedule medical procedures and manage lab specimens.
• Instruct patients on medication usage and wound care.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain supply inventory.
• Perform nurse visits and basic phlebotomy as needed.
• Complete phone triage and communicate test results to patients.
