Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Prior experience in medical office.
• Ability to learn center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve high patient care and service standards.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
• Familiarity with EMR systems (ModMed EMA) (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
• Some offices may require travel.
• Team player.

Aufgaben

• Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming visit purpose.
• Enter medical history and visit data into the EHR.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for exams.
• Take pertinent medical questions and enter data into the EHR.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Phone prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Instruct patients on medication usage and wound care.
• Perform in-office phlebotomy and change dressings.
• Collect, log, and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain supplies.
• Maintain inventory and place orders.
• Complete phone triage and communicate test results.
• Scribe office visits and document.
• Administer IM, SQ, and topical medications as ordered.
• Support nurse visits, including suture removal and phototherapy procedures.
