Job summary

Golden State Dermatology in Roseville, CA is hiring a Mohs/lab tech and floor medical assistant. The role includes preparing exam rooms, assisting with surgical procedures, scheduling tests, and supporting front desk tasks.

Training in the lab will be provided; the position combines Mohs/lab duties with general medical assisting. The schedule is 10-hour days, 4 days per week, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset or experience.
• Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience.
• Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Experience with EMR software such as EClinicalWorks or EMA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with needed instruments and supplies; keep rooms clean and stocked.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and notes in EMA.
• Ensure MIPS information is accurately completed in the medical record.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments for patients.
• Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures (exements, Mohs).
• Support front desk by answering phones, scheduling patients, and coordinating with back office.
• Clean and perform spore testing on the autoclave; maintain records.
• Check medication and biopsy records; document results in charts.
• Process prescription refills per procedures and obtain authorization as needed.
• Manage pathology and culture logs with responsibility and accuracy.
