Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for inpatient nursing support. You will deliver direct patient care under the supervision of the RN or physician, assist with examinations, and document patient progress.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating care across shifts. The role requires an active LPN license, BLS within 30 days, and completion of required credentialing.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state or multi-state LPN license via eNLC.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per the plan of care and supervision.
• Assist physicians and the overseeing role with exams and procedures.
• Observe and document patient status and progress.
• Administer medications via IM, subcutaneous, IV, oral, nebulization, MDI as assigned.
• Contribute to patient assessment by collecting and recording data.
• Monitor patient condition and report deviations.
• Participate in developing the plan of care with the team.
• Educate patients and families as directed.
• Document nursing interventions and responses to care.
• Obtain supervision when implementing nursing techniques.
