Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer in the United States to lead DER impact studies and support planning for the distribution grid. The role requires experience with DER integration, hosting capacity analyses, and coordination with interconnection teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Typically requires 6 years of experience in electric utility distribution planning, with a focus on DER integration
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; familiarity with IEEE 1547, FERC, NERC

Responsibilities

Lead and support DER impact studies to assess hosting capacity, voltage regulation, thermal loading, protection coordination, and power quality
Modeling and Simulation: Perform steady-state and dynamic simulations using WindMil, CYME, Synergi, and maintain distribution system models
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory filings
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies
