Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. seeks a Distribution Planning Engineer to lead DER impact studies and support DOE analyses within the electric utility planning team.

The role focuses on integrating distributed energy resources such as solar, storage, and EVs into the distribution grid to ensure safe, reliable operation. You will perform detailed modeling and simulations using WindMil, CYME, and Synergi, develop distribution models, and prepare technical reports for internal and regulatory use.

Qualifications

• DER impact studies and hosting capacity analysis are required.
• Strong understanding of distribution system operations and planning.
• Experience with interconnection standards (IEEE 1547, FERC, NERC).
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• PE license preferred; hosting capacity/locational value knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead DER impact studies, assess hosting capacity, voltage regulation, and thermal loading.
• Modeling & simulation using WindMil, CYME, and Synergi; develop distribution models.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory filings for stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements in planning.
