Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Deputy Engineering Leader in its Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit in Tysons, VA.

The role focuses on leading engineering for mission-critical facilities, overseeing design, procurement, and construction of electrical systems, and ensuring project success through technical excellence. Ideal candidates will bring 5+ years in construction with engineering degrees, strong vendor and client communication, and a track record in industrialized construction processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with construction experience.
• Master's degree in engineering with construction experience.
• Independent, motivated, and able to lead in a team environment.
• Experience with access control, video surveillance, perimeter security, and other electronic security systems.
• Familiarity with REVIT, AutoCAD, Procore and related design/administration tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical discussions, projects, and programs.
• Validate world-class technical solutions on projects.
• Ensure engineering best practices across disciplines.
• Manage technical risk on projects.
• Provide oversight and technical direction to engineering teams.
• Develop and mentor engineers and technical experts.
• Prepare client-specific solutions.
• Develop and maintain project artifacts for success.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Review technical project details with leadership.
• Integrate data from company systems to derive insights.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and issues resolved.
• Maintain strong, proactive relationships with project engineers.
