Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle seeks a Senior Real Property Manager to lead the Real Property Division within the DECM department, directing acquisition, relocation and property management for multiple projects while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and agency policies.

The role focuses on complex property negotiations, stakeholder coordination, budget oversight, and staff leadership, offering a comprehensive benefits package and a strong emphasis on equity and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of real estate experience including right of way acquisition, relocation, property management and relocation assistance for federally funded programs; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.
• Preference for Senior Right of Way Agent designation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work of Real Property Project Manager and staff; assigns work activities and coordinates schedules.
• Coaches, trains and motivates staff; manages employee relations and performance.
• Manages acquisition of complex properties, including creative solutions for agency needs.
• Negotiates and resolves sensitive issues; participates in community and stakeholder meetings.
• Manages condemnation process and assists with appraisal and legal coordination.
• Oversees division budget development and monitoring.
