Job summary

Sound Transit seeks an experienced cost engineering leader to direct a team of cost engineers and consultants across the agency’s capital program. You will set estimating standards, drive QA/QC, and integrate cost with schedule, risk, and procurement to deliver insights for decision-makers.

You will mentor staff, oversee complex cost analyses, and collaborate with design, construction, and finance to optimize project delivery while upholding industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field with six years of cost management experience.
• Experience leading cost engineering staff and consultant teams.
• Experience with forensic delay analysis, claims defense, and cost risk evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating for major capital programs from concept through design.
• Direct cost engineering teams and coordinate with design, procurement, and construction.
• Oversee consultant contracts, scopes, budgets, and performance.
• Produce monthly cost status reports, risk analyses, and benchmarking.
• Mentor staff and ensure QA/QC of estimates and narratives.
