Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Deputy Chief Systems Engineer to lead system-level activities for space-based remote sensing projects. The role requires extensive systems engineering experience, strong leadership, and expertise in EO/IR, RF, and space payload domains.

The ideal candidate will coordinate teams, perform requirements management, and drive integration and testing across the full lifecycle of complex space systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with at least 10 years; in lieu of a degree, 16 years of related experience.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Experience generating/managing requirements at multiple system levels and flowing down requirements to sub-systems.
• Experience using DOORS and/or MBSE tools such as CAMEO and MagicDraw.
• Experience leading large space programs across full system lifecycle.
• Experience with Laser/LADAR system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead system concept of operation development, requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation.
• Lead requirements traceability and develop test plans to cover requirements.
• Execute design trades to support technical decisions.
• Lead design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.).
• Lead integration and testing of EO/IR systems and related hardware/software.
• Support/lead data analysis, modeling, and simulation.
• Evaluate customer needs to define/coordinate system performance requirements and interfaces.
• Evaluate/mitigate program risk.
• Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Contribute to proposal activities, program planning, guidance, and execution.
