Job summary

City of Austin is seeking an Airport Deputy Chief Officer of Operations & Experience to oversee the readiness, activation, transition, and customer experience for a large multi-airport system. The role includes strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, and responsible oversight of staff and budgets.

The candidate will drive organizational change, collaborate with city departments and external partners, and serve as a spokesperson during incidents affecting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus six years of related experience, including two years in supervision.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages programs, functions, and initiatives to ensure effectiveness.
• Develops and implements short- and long-range strategies, objectives, policies, and priorities.
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, Local, and industry regulations.
• Assists in budget preparation, presentation, and monitoring; ensures divisions operate within budget.
