Job summary

The City of Austin seeks an Airport Deputy Chief Officer of Operations & Experience to lead multiple functional areas and drive operational excellence at AUS. You will develop and coordinate work plans, implement strategic initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic, on-site leadership role.

Reporting to the Airport Chief Officer, you will oversee budgeting, policy development, and collaboration with City departments, boards, and external partners to enhance overall customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus six years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
• Preferred: executive leadership experience in airport operations or airport customer experience.
• Leadership in system-wide airport customer experience strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements short- and long-range strategies, objectives, policies, and priorities.
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, Local, and industry regulations.
• Assists in budget preparation, presentation, and monitoring within approved funds.
• Acts as official departmental representative to boards, City departments, and external agencies.
• Coordinates activities with other City departments and service providers.
• Responds to inquiries and issues from internal and external sources.
