Job Summary: The Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer is a key operational leader responsible for the effective execution, administration, and continuous improvement of Human Resources programs and services across Salisbury University. Reporting to the AVP and Chief Human Resources Officer, this position provides day to day leadership of HR operations and ensures that departmental initiatives, policies, and programs are implemented effectively, consistently, and in alignment with university priorities. The incumbent oversees multiple Human Resources functions, including recruitment and talent acquisition, benefits, retirement, wellness programs, employee and labor relations (including two bargaining units), compensation, and classification. This role provides direct leadership and guidance to HR staff, manages operational workflows, ensures timely delivery of services, and supports the successful implementation of HR programs that meet the needs of the University community. The Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence by strengthening processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws and institutional policies, improving customer service, and promoting efficient and effective HR practices. The position serves as a resource to campus leaders, managers, and employees by providing guidance, resolving complex HR matters, and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with strong operational management skills, the ability to execute programs and initiatives, lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality HR services.
