Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer for the Secure Subsystems Engineering team in El Segundo, CA. You will lead upgrades on a legacy device, drive crypto certification, and coordinate with PMO, finance, and customers to deliver secure, validated solutions.

You will oversee system requirements, testing, and bid/proposal activities, ensuring successful program deliveries while maintaining strict security clearances and government requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with the systems development process from requirements to production.
• Experience leading large programs (>$50M) as chief engineer or project lead for 2+ years.
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• STEM degree with substantial relevant experience or an advanced related degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead as deputy chief engineer for upgrades on a legacy device.
• Collaborate with the lead chief engineer, engineering leads, PMO and customer for crypto certification.
• Cost Accounting Manager coordination with Finance/Scheduler for internal BCRs/IMS planning.
• Act as product owner/scrum master and run CCBs for defects.
• Perform system planning, integration, verification/validation, risk, and support analyses.
• Lead bid and proposal efforts and manage requirements decomposition and testing.
• Oversee CDRL updates and testing on software/hardware crypto systems.
