Job summary
RTX's Collins Aerospace division seeks a Deputy Chief Engineer for the Secure Subsystems Engineering team in El Segundo. You will lead upgrades to a legacy crypto device, collaborate with the lead engineer, PMO, and customer to achieve crypto certification, and guide bid/proposal efforts as well as defects through CCB governance.
The role requires strong systems engineering experience, a SECRET clearance, and a STEM background.
Qualifications
- Experience with the systems development process from requirements to production.
- Experience leading $50–$100M programs as chief engineer/project lead for 2+ years.
- Active and transferable SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Typically requires STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile (SAFe) and cryptographic hardware architectures.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and test methodologies.
- Experience with software languages such as Rust and Python.
Responsibilities
- Lead as deputy chief engineer for upgrades to a legacy crypto device.
- Coordinate with lead engineer, PMO, and customer to obtain crypto certification.
- Direct bid/proposal efforts and manage CCB governance for defects.
- Perform system requirements decomposition, CDRL updates, and testing for crypto systems.
