RTX’s Mission Solutions and Payloads in El Segundo, CA seeks a Deputy Chief Engineer to lead Next Generation GEO OPIR sensor technology development. You will drive engineering program execution, hardware/software integration, and technical leadership across teams, while coordinating with customers and management.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a STEM degree with 10+ years of experience, and fluency in managing design-to-cost/system integration, risk, and proposal activities within a

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in STEM and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in electro-optical (EO) and/or IR sensor systems and link budgets & margins.
• Experience with hardware and software system integration, test, verification and validation.
• Experience communicating complex topics across all organizational levels and customers.
• Experience with technical team leadership, program staffing, earned value, risk management, and subcontract management.

Responsibilities

• Engineering program execution and technical leadership for advanced IR payload sensors.
• Provide maintenance and operations support for Space-qualified hardware and software.
• Facilitate communications between external customers, internal Raytheon leadership, and the program’s engineering team.
• Analysis and forecasting of staffing, risk/opportunity management, earned value, IPT coordination, subcontract management, and anomaly management.
• Manage technical baseline through documentation and reviews, and chair Engineering Review Board.
• Support new business activities and responses to RFIs/RFPs and scope changes (ECPs).
• Support technical roadmaps and mentoring; contribute to process improvements.
