Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Deputy Chief Engineer, DevOps – Director 1 in Melbourne, FL. This leadership role directs technical strategy and execution for integrated flight and mission-critical capabilities across hardware and software, ensuring safety, certification, and program success.

A Secret clearance and FAA/EASA familiarity are required. You will lead a large, multidisciplinary engineering organization and collaborate with regulatory bodies while guiding risk management,

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master in a STEM field with 8+ years in aerospace engineering across design, development, integration and testing of large aircraft.
Leadership experience directing multi-disciplinary teams in air vehicle software/hardware development, integration and certification.
Experience with embedded real-time systems, avionics architectures and software/hardware integration.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the technical strategy for aircraft development programs.
Oversee lifecycle phases from concept through certification and flight testing.
Manage risk, lead technical reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR/Flight Readiness), and drive issue resolution.
