Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our Melbourne, FL team onsite. You will lead refactors of monolithic apps into microservices, design and implement CI/CD pipelines, and containerize services with Docker for Kubernetes deployments.

The role requires strong scripting, DoD/IAT comms, and DoD clearance eligibility; you will collaborate with network and infrastructure teams in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 5 years’ relevant experience, or STEM Master’s degree with 3 years’ relevant experience, or a STEM PhD with 1 years’ relevant experience.
• Proficiency with databases and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Refactor existing monolithic codebases with databases into micro-service architectures using domain-driven design principles.
• Create, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, containerization, and deployment.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes clusters maintaining Helm charts and handling scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Write reusable automation scripts and templates in YAML, PowerShell, Bash, and JSON to support continuous integration, security scanning, and release management.
• Implement and manage core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NAS, Active Directory)
