Overview

At Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, we are seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer – DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure located in Melbourne, FL. In this role you will design, develop, integrate, and test software for our end‑user customers and businesses and manage cloud infrastructure tools and data for the Aircraft Ground Systems team.

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel required for approximately 10% of the time. Clearance required: Secret. U.S. citizenship required.

Essential Functions

• Work in a fast‑paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products to our customers.
• Manage cloud infrastructure tools and data.
• Manage and improve container orchestration and deployment strategies.
• Develop tools to manage continuous integration, software stack support, code quality and coverage.
• Ensure and develop tools for monitoring security, privacy, and integrity of data and other resources.
• Set up an overall cloud‑native software factory.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 4 years.
• Ability to implement software and scripts in one or more languages: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, and/or KornShell.
• Knowledge of at least one cloud technology: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with defining roadmap, architecting, designing, implementing cyber remediation and cyber compliance (RMF).
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or certification with cloud and container management & security technologies such as VMWare, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, ECS, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and Nomad.
• Demonstrated recent experience defining roadmap, architecting, designing, implementing cyber remediation and compliance (RMF).
• Experience architecting, designing, implementing, maintaining, and administering micro‑services for cloud and application systems (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
• Experience with continuous deployment systems: Octopus, ArgoCD, CodeStream, ElectricFlow, AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience working in an Agile framework.

Benefits

Salary range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00, with considerations for experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for VP/Director positions.
