Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; 4+ years related experience; 1 year supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred.
• Credentials: ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping; professional certifications may be required.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job-specific software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Provide supervision and control for all departmental activities; assist in retention and training of staff and customers; conduct staff meetings; address performance problems per policies.
• Oversee shipment documentation for accuracy; review invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements for regulatory compliance.
• Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume for exports/imports; liaise with customs to obtain release of freight and resolve delays.
• Establish and revise policies and service standards for customs clearance; ensure consistent application.
• Identify areas of concern in import/export processes through monitoring team performance and client reviews.
• Communicate with operations manager about progress; maintain flexible schedule including after-hours on-call rotation.
• Participate in department projects within responsibility area.
