Qualifications

  • Mindestens 1 Jahr Erfahrung im Kundenservice, bevorzugt im Gesundheitswesen.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Department Scheduler and Support Assistant
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Department Scheduler and Support Assistant
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
  • Required Travel: No
Job Summary:

Interacts with patients via phone, the electronic medical record, and online applications (i.e., NorthShore Connect). Schedule procedural cases (such as Cardiac Cath, EP, Structural Heart, and Interventional Radiology) based on patient, physician, and lab availability. Coordinates other key stakeholders needed for the procedure, such as vendor representatives and anesthesia. Enters and confirms patient procedural charges using Epic Optime, as applicable.

What you will do:
  • Enters case-specific information in Epic Optime and/or Radiant, ensuring accuracy and confirming booking information with the physician and/or support staff.
  • Reviews future procedure lab availability, identifies scheduling options with the physician, staff, and patient to optimize lab time and prevent conflicts.
  • Enters and identifies the appropriate procedure (Cardiac Cath, EP, Structural Heart, IR), determining case length using Epic Optime.
  • Modifies and rearranges scheduled cases to maximize resource utilization at the request of physicians and staff.
  • Verifies physician privileges prior to adding procedure requests.
  • Manages inbound calls related to scheduling protocols, potentially handling over 50 calls per day.
  • Uses Epic work queue to call patients and schedule procedures.
  • Communicates with RN Patient Navigators for pre-op instructions.
  • Coordinates with insurance verification team to ensure coverage and reimbursement.
  • Completes end-of-day processes, clears charges in Epic Optime, and transmits data to billing.
  • Reviews documentation to prevent billing errors.
  • Participates in monthly meetings to address scheduling concerns.
  • Orders office supplies and uploads call schedules.
What you will need:
  • High School Diploma; two years college preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year customer service experience; healthcare setting preferred.
  • Effective communication skills via phone, Epic, and chat.
  • Ability to improve processes, communicate openly, and adapt to change.
