Half Moon Empanadas operates an airport location and seeks friendly Team Members to welcome travelers, take orders, process payments, and keep the store clean and stocked. The role supports a fast-paced environment with emphasis on guest service and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, welcoming way and create a positive atmosphere.
• Take orders, share menu information, and suggest add-ons based on preferences.
• Handle guest concerns tactfully and find solutions.
• Enter orders in the POS system; handle card and cash payments and provide receipts.
• Reconcile transactions and deposit cash drops as needed.
• Prepare drinks and assist with kitchen tasks, including baking.
• Follow food-handling procedures and ensure quality of all food and beverages.
• Set up the store, stock products, and manage inventory daily.
• Follow TSA and airport security protocols.

Our oven-baked empanadas are made with real ingredients and bold Latin flavor, and today we serve travelers in airports across the country. ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Team Member, you're the face of Half Moon Empanadas. You welcome travelers, take orders, handle payments accurately, and keep the store clean, stocked and running smoothly. If you enjoy people, like a fast pace and take pride in good food, you'll fit right in.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Guest experience

• Greet every guest in a friendly, welcoming way and create a positive atmosphere.
• Take orders, share menu information, and offer recommendations and add-ons based on guest preferences and popular items.
• Handle guest concerns in a positive, tactful way and find solutions.

Orders and cash handling

• Enter orders in the point-of-sale system quickly and accurately and provide a receipt for each guest.
• Accept card and cash payments, count change accurately, and follow cash-handling policies.
• Help reconcile and verify transactions and deposit cash drops in the manager's office safe.

Food quality and safety

• Prepare and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
• Help with kitchen tasks as needed, including baking.
• Follow food-handling procedures: wrapping, labeling, dating, storing, rotating and checking temperatures.
• Take responsibility for the quality of all food and beverages served.

Store operations

• Set up the store daily; requisition, stock and rotate products.
• Receive inventory and move supplies between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
• Complete daily inventory and follow all opening, closing and standard operating procedures.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, and lock up food, beverages and equipment.
• Take part in all team member meetings.

Airport safety and security

• Always follow TSA and airport security protocols.

WHAT YOU BRING

• A friendly, positive attitude and a genuine enjoyment of serving people.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to serve guests and take orders. Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
• Cashier or food-service experience is a plus. No experience? We'll train you.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Reliable and on time, with availability for early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Able to pass the background screening and badging required by the airport authority and federal regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires standing for long periods, reaching for product, and handling beverages and empanadas. You must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. You'll work inside a busy airport terminal and pass through security screening each shift.
