Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Dentist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care within a federal health system. You will manage complex cases and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance health equity and community well-being.

Responsibilities include comprehensive services across restorative, endodontic, periodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and emergency care, with emphasis on clinical documentation, infection control, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• DMD or DDS degree from an ADA/CODA-approved school.
• Successful NBDE completion and possession of a current, full dental license in the U.S.
• Minimum of one year of full-time dentistry experience at GS-12 level or above.
• Two-year residency in dentistry or related field for GS-12 level, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in restorative, pediatric, periodontic, endodontic, prosthodontic, diagnostic, surgical and preventive services.
• Ability to document records, infection control, and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental care: exams, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, emergency services.
• Independently evaluate and manage complex cases and coordinate with medical providers for complex health needs.
• Educate patients on treatment options, risks, and post-care; address diverse cultural and socioeconomic needs.
• Consult and guide other healthcare providers and dental staff on dental health impacts on overall health.
• Maintain clinical records and participate in quality improvement, infection control, and program operations.
