Job summary

Indian Health Service in the United States seeks a Dentist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care, manage complex cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team while advancing health equity and community well-being.

You will perform examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and a broad range of procedures, including endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and emergency services.

Qualifications

• DMD or DDS from ADA/CODA-approved school.
• NBDE completion and a current, unrestricted U.S. dental license.
• GS-12 level equivalent experience in dentistry.
• Two-year residency or equivalent for GS-12 level.
• Experience across restorative, pediatric, endodontic, prosthodontic, surgical and preventive dentistry.
• Ability to maintain clinical records, infection control and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental care across exams, diagnosis, treatment planning and procedures.
• Independently manage complex cases and coordinate with medical providers.
• Deliver patient education and preventive care addressing diverse needs.
• Consult and advise healthcare staff on dental health and its broader impact.
• Maintain clinical records and participate in quality improvement and infection control.
