Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Dentist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care within American Indian communities. You will manage complex cases, perform restorative, endodontic, periodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and emergency services while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advance health equity. Requirements include U.S.

citizenship, NBDE completion, and a valid U.S. dental license.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Compliance with immunization policy for vaccine‑preventable diseases.
• Must pass a federal background investigation.
• Financial responsibility and good standing with creditors.
• REAL ID compliance required by May 7, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental care including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, and advanced dental services.
• Independently evaluate and manage complex dental conditions and coordinate care with medical providers.
• Deliver patient education and preventive care while addressing diverse cultural and socioeconomic needs.
• Provide consultation to healthcare providers and dental staff on dental health issues.
• Maintain clinical records, participate in quality improvement, infection control, and strategic planning.
