Job summary

The University of Florida College of Dentistry is seeking a Clinical Financial Counselor to support the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The role focuses on financial counseling, pre-certifications, and scheduling all OR procedures, ensuring accurate billing and collaboration with insurance providers.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, verifying coverage, posting OR cases, and updating calendars.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience and/or training, including customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care and schedule OR surgeries, including pre-certification and scheduling.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine if services are covered under policies.
• Enter treatment plans and charges into the Epic system and communicate CPT/DX codes for OR cases.
• Assist with department insurance explanations of benefits, claims filing, and adjustments.
